Sahara Net has just signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) withHuman Resources Development Fund(HRDF) in order to higher more Saudi personnel in its departments. All Links Restored with Compensation

Sahara Net and its DSP partners (STC and ITC) have managed to restore the lost links after the major marine cable cuts in theFlag and Falconcables in Alexandria and Dubai. The cables are still to be fixed by specialized repair ships. However, resoration was done by alternative links through SMW4 and SMW3 cables travelling to the East. Marine Cable Major Problem

A major cut in two submarine cables linking Europe to the Middle East have caused STC Internet Gateway (IGW) and ITC Gateway to lose most of their available internet capacity. This cut affected the Internet traffic in the region severly by a noticable degraded service level. Sahara Net customers will notice some service slowness during the weekend. Due to a major failure in Saudi Telecom Co (STC) main exchange in Dammam; all ADSL services went down for over 15 hours, starting Wednesday Nov 21 after noon till Thursday Nov 22nd early morning. EasyNet, leased lines and hosting services were not affected by the failure due to the availibility of a backup international link provided by ITC.
