New Cyber Attacks
Recently, Armis Labs announced the discovery of one of the most dangerous
vulnerabilities named BlueBorne, which uses Bluetooth technology to provide the hacker
full control of the victim’s device without his interaction or notice. 8 billion devices use
Bluetooth globally, 5 billion of which have this vulnerability. Our recommendation is to
disable Bluetooth in public. Moreover, it’s highly essential to activate auto update for
operating systems and applications.
Cyber Security Statistics
According to International Data Corporation (IDC), the annual average spending on cyber
security is 73$ billion, and expected to reach 100$ billion by 2020. In addition, cyber crimes
cost between 375$ and 575$ billion annually based on the latest studies released by Intel
Security, around %42 of the total cost was spent by USA, China, Japan, and Germany which
indicates the criticality of cyber threats.
New Cyber Threats
Our Cyber Security Team addressed the CRITICAL UPDATES announced by Cisco to patch
various critical & high vulnerabilities in Cisco routers and switches to prevent hackers from
gaining full remote control over devices.
These vulnerabilities could lead to a complete network failure, or to use the network for
Cyber Security Tip
Being protected from cyber attacks in the past doesn’t mean that you are safe now, it is
essential to apply continuous cyber security standards & ensure that systems,
applications and devices are always up-to-date.
Only by cyber security standards beside minimizing risk of human factor & continuous
internal auditing, we can assure the immunity of our cyber space.
